Energy Efficiency Initiative
CMAA started a new energy efficiency initiative working with the City of Lowell, the Community First Partnership (Mass Save), Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) and UMass Lowell’s RIST Institute for Sustainability and Energy.
Through our above partners, CMAA helps residents, landlords, renters, and small businesses access energy-saving benefits and reduce home energy costs.
A key part of this initiative is recruiting and training energy ambassadors from the Cambodian community. Ambassadors promote energy savings by informing residents about available programs and sharing their own energy-saving experiences with friends, family, and neighbors. They meet monthly with the CMAA project team to provide updates and receive support.
Monthly Ambassador Meetings are held on select Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the CMAA office. Community Energy Trainings are also offered several times throughout the year.
In addition, every Thursday, the Energy Advocate from the City of Lowell and All In Energy staff come to the CMAA office to assist people and help connect them to available resources.
